Well, I have been thinking a lot about the show and where I want it to go. The numbers are looking good, and I know there are many people out there with interest in these topics... The problem is it takes me a very long time to work on getting a show out, and I am not a good public speaker, I also know NOTHING about podcasting!!! So I decided to return to my roots and write a blog instead of record one...
It will give me much more power over getting things up, it will allow it to be a much more interactive environment, as well as make it easier to distribute to people no matter what device they are on!
Thank you to everyone for listening, I hope that you have found the ideas and information helpful. And this is by no means the end of my project, I just realize that writing is a better format for me than audio podcasting...
That being said, I will soon be turning my RSS feed and the server account I have for it over to a friend of mine, to do with as he wishes!!
I will leave this up for a week or so to give everyone a chance to update their podcatchers!
I love you all and thank you!!!
Talk to you soon at Sustaininghumans.com

Childhood and development is the topic of this weeks podcast. It is actually one of three shows I am doing to show the general standards and theories about development and my ideas on growth and society. During this episode I read from the CDC's website about the developmental milestones... up to the age of 5. It is also the beginning of national down syndrome awareness month, and even though national autism awareness month is "technically" in april I don't see why we can't discuss it now!
Standards and statistics are one thing, but I don't think they should ever out way critical thinking or reason! Percentages and development assigned standards by age in our society I feel is what modern day eugenics has developed into. Like always, there might be a rant or two, but for the most part I do include the Center of Disease Control's actually website and words. After listening to this, let me know if you feel I am right or wrong, or if you are just bored and like heated debates!
Next week's episode will be more about puberty, adulthood, and aging...
Also I added a closing song by Pink Punk, one of my favorites!!!

This weeks episode is about thinking about our roles in society. We are sick and there was the equinox, so I apologize for posting this two days late, we took some time to recuperate and let some things get behind. I am feeling a lot more motivated which hopefully will translate into better health during this week!
We are also having a problem with the polls I made, It was my first try so please be patient with my learning curve! Once I figure this out, it should be very silly and fun!!!

Drugs, the first and only example of an explanation that I can come up with to share the mind and the reason of the user. Are you a person who wonders why someone would ever use drugs? Are you a person who uses drugs recreational proper, but wonders what the "deal" is? Do you feel like you are addicted and don't have a clue to what is happening to you? I have experience and answers, so listen!!!! It is only a 30 minute show, and it is so clear and direct, honest and powerful!
I have been clean for years and I don't feel victimized! Please share this with anyone you know that are concerned, want a way out, or can't comprehend what is happening to someone they know dealing with something like this!!!
Also send me you ideas and insight!

Sex.... Yeah I said "sex"! Obviously there is a shortage on this topic on the internets! What is so interesting about sex? How does it work?? How do I get sex??? How do I protect myself from..... THE COOTIES????
You may have asked these kinds of questions yourself! In the privacy of your own obsessed little sick mind. You may have had a brief but technical class on sex in your public education, or you may have had highly religious parents or guardians who burned you with holy water anytime you mentioned it! You may be a early bloomer, a late bloomer, or you may have just grown up unable to get enough of snapping girls bra-straps and running.
Lucky for you I am an EXPERT! I share all the basics, okay well, some of the basics.
Most people learn about sex and love from T.V., radio, and comic books, this leaves them with the equivalent of a third grader for the rest of their lives. Have you laughed at this before? "Milk milk lemonade!!"
Listen to this free and in depth audio episode about sex and love and a few things in between, and then look at the spelling of the word "between"! (Looks weird to me)
Also this podcast episode launches TWO new segments...
"Can I be more controversial"
"Can I help you"
The earlier in the beginning and the latter which is at the end... The "Can I be more controversial" segment is accompanied with a poll, and here is a version for you to take part in!
Tell me what you think about this statement:
"Homosexuality is a byproduct of illness or disease."
Thank you for your participation!!!

Children are awe inspiring, often wiser than their older counterparts, generous with emotions and trust, and a handful! We have 5... count them!... This episode I get Amanda back on to discuss various levels of having and raising children. Not only have I been their for the genetic needs of 5 little humans, I was also a live in nanny for 2 families, so I definitely have some thoughts on the subject!
We get much deeper than a PTA meeting, we coddle you more than a teletubbies marathon, and we snuggle all over this topic before reminding it that it should brush it's teeth and change clothes.
Suggestions and experiences are always invited and hoped for, there are a lot of people out there who don't feel they have the answers they need in this arena.. and we can help! What is that saying? "It takes an internet to raise a child", doesn't sound exactly right but it's close!!!

A very short episode about my thoughts on money with a side of questions!
Money, currency, and value are all interesting things to think about. How do we get our minds out of this consumerism nightmare, where our money is harder to come by, less valuable by the day, and draining our imagination and craftsmanship? Who do we blame for this? How do we take responsibility for our part in this insanely heartless machine?
This is definitely a crisis! We have to do something to fix the situation for our generation as well as the future ones. Hopefully you will join this conversation and we can come up with something that will last.

What is communication and how do we do it? How do some people seem to do it well while others don't? I switch things up a bit this episode by going solo, and by getting a little extra deep on the topic of talking (which might be one of my favorite things to talk about!!! .... I am meta like that!)
I give some brilliant and insightful analogies to give people a new easier way to think about talking! If you don't listen, you can't be blown away! So sacrifice half an hour to get your stuff in order. There might be a few sound drops, just saying.

Negotiation, okay.. work with us on this one!! Talk it out, write it down, make a power point or spreadsheet.... (spread sheets!!! lol) In this enlightened episode we discuss the basics of discussing. How we go into a situation and make it work for everyone involved! We clear out some of the misunderstandings that are common, and that shed a very uneasy light on people who are first having to prepare for working out their issues instead of running from them! Enjoy this head on approach to dialogue! (which I had to twist Amanda's arm to record! lol)

We all get second chances! Hopefully by now we are ready to take what we have learned our first time around into the next. We all know ourselves a little more, and now it is time to learn about each other, after all, if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it.... does it have a reason to fall?
This season will be about relationships on all levels, as well as the minutia that is involved. I have a formula that I hope helps gets this idea across and makes it practical for anyone listening... (Hopefully you are all cookie cutter versions, lol)
This episode is simply a diving board that vibrates behind us, humming in the background as we fall towards our destiny! Is that an epic enough image?

Health should definitely be sustainable! Unfortunately we are not trained in how to think about it or even how to talk about it! It is a very personal issue to all of us, our health! So indulge me on this final episode of season one, and let me get some fundamental ideas off my chest! Sit back with an open mind and let the ideas soak in to the roots of your being! Realize that 100 years in our eyes is just a needle in a haystack. Out of everything we could talk about when it comes to living a sustainable life, the living part is the most important to me!!! Hopefully it is on the top of your priority list as well!!

Survival kits are quite a topic! This episode of "The Sustainable Humanity Podcast" is a discussion of items in a survival kit that would not be disposable. Items with multiple uses that are made of durable materials and that produce no waste should be a standard for a lifesaving collection of equipment, be it for a overnight camping trip or an apocalyptic zombie infestation. We come up with ten items (5 each) and explain why in this ground breaking new episode!! Put your inner pack-rat to the test and start your own survival/emergency kit, and for the love of all that is holy, pack the tweezers!!

Orientation is finding one's bearings. Navigation is moving through a place. What these two words have to do with the journey of life and the path to self sufficiency or sustainable living is profound!
Planning for the future takes knowing how to find out where you are. Getting there takes an understanding of the resources and obstacles you will come across, as well as patience and engagement.
Step by step we are all going into the future, and we explore the past with every memory. You might not be able to walk a mile in my shoes, but you can listen for an hour. See what I am doing here, basically I am using words that all have to do with moving from one place to another! It's like hypnosis or something!

Scouting and the modern world involves a lot more than your little handbook from a 4-h club, or the Ruby Tuesday's style flare patches. While all those things are good for building a base for community and socialization, they fall short of real difficulties and issues we all come across in life! Finding your own solutions should be a class they teach in elementary grades but unfortunately people don't see the problems until it is too late, even when the solution could have been right under their feet this whole time! Come with us while we EXPLORE the NATURE of life!

Here we are talking about people being territorial creatures! The elephant man might have thought he was not an animal, but biologists know better. We constantly are either guarding territory, or claiming territory, and yeah, if you get in my personal space we will probably have to deal with it outside! However, this podcast is a place where we can all freely come and get mental about topics like this...

Which came first the racist or the race? In order to distinguish between two things, we have created a never ending ability to divide things into smaller and smaller categories! Of course this is great for students, for survival, and for mating... But when one group has made these ideas have value, they teach it to any new member of the group! Making a first impression is extremely important. The sad part is, people often spend more time making decisions about someone when they don't need to! But being that my listeners and only my listeners are best people, I felt we could drink a million energy drinks and record a discussion about this 'no-no' subject.

Idleness, it's not just for kids anymore! In the hustle and bustle of modern earth, the jump to it, go get it, just do it mentality has created a world where 'peace' is just a keyword. How can we have peace if we can't stop for a moment and relax, maybe smell the roses, if there are any left by the time this airs. I will give you an hour out of my time, you don't have to do anything, just relax and listen and procrastinate all that important stuff you have on your to do list. Get over yourself, the world can do without you for one hour... I CAN'T!

When I am not hanging with important people, or accepting nobel prizes (yes, that was plural) ................ (ok, and maybe I drink a bit..)
I am thinking about what means the most to us on a general level!
What I do is I go through this deep guru brain I have, I listen to some music on my Ipod, maybe I masturbate! DON'T JUDGE ME!!!!
I look at culture and society the way others do, not only now but in the past and in the future, and if you are wondering.. yes I can do that!
Alright, I have worked myself into this horrible writing corner.....
the show is about freedom, and you have never thought about it this way I promise OR YOUR MONEY BACK!!!!!!!

Welcome to the 9th installment of the Sustainable Humanity Podcast! What a treat we have for you today! I fragment like a monkey with ADHD and a xylophone. Of course as I often want to do, I layer in deep and profound meaning as I weave these threads together... Values. All these communities that sprout out of a limited common priority, or perhaps sometimes loneliness. I open my godlike golden eyes and I open my mouth and give you what you are missing from life, meaning and direction in the most drunken fragmented place on the web!

Nothing should be more sustainable than our housing! This show is a study of a book from the 1960's that was put out by our government that told us how to live. Funny enough, it doesn't seem to be saying the same thing that they are telling us now???? weird, but I hope a fun listen!
